Competitive sports has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. It’s shaped me into the person I am today. You name it, I’ve played it and tried to win. I am the youngest of FIVE, 4 brothers and 1 sister. For my family, competition and sports wasn’t a choice, it was a lifestyle and we wouldn’t have had it any other way.
So naturally I grew up as a “tomboy”… that word makes me smile today. It reminds me of all the times I’ve played against the guys and won. I tried my hardest to convince my mom to let me play football, I didn’t win that argument –instead I was handed a basketball and told to get to work. Needless to say sports taught me to have confidence and gave me a platform to let my outgoing personality shine through.
After graduating college and retiring from basketball, I decided to take a “break”. My love for the game, sports, and competition had faded. I was lost as to what to do next. Nothing held my attention, nothing captured the passion that had come so naturally to me until that one fateful day that I walked into Brazen. To say my life has been changed by Brazen would be an understatement. I found more than a gym, I found myself again and my purpose. Every day I am challenged with something new and have people by my side to push me, love me, and encourage me. I find joy in sharing that with others and know that I’m right where I’m supposed to be.
